Salvage
Polaris conducts most of the salvage work on small craft in the Sydney area, and are the preferred contractors to insurance companies, private individuals, government agencies and the like, due to our intuitive methods and pollution free, prompt and economical record. Polaris has the plant and ability to conduct almost all salvage operations in house.
Towage
Nearly all barge and lighterage work in the Sydney Harbour area is undertaken by Polaris Marine, and most of the small vessel/ship towage. Large shipping is handled under contract by the larger operators with whom Polaris has a good working relationship. Almost all of the medium sized offshore and interport towage is conducted by Polaris on a case by case basis, as is with limited international towage.
Deliveries
Polaris has a number of crane barge and boats that can deliver and pick up equipment to or from your location whether it be a 100 KG pump to Rose Bay of a 1,000 tonne of cargo to Port Headland.
Events
Every large event requiring marine input for the last twenty odd years, has been reliant on Polaris having a large input into supply of tugs, workboats and barges. For the most recent events and displays, Polaris has been the exclusive supplier of floating plant, as well as consultation on all aspects of the marine activities.
Moorings
Polaris are the major supplier of mooring equipment, installation and maintenance for individuals, clubs, state governments, navy and major aquatic events in the Sydney region.
Lighterage
Various forms of barges, crane, hopper and deck lighters are available from Polaris' own fleet, and from other owners that utilize Polaris as managers and operators on their behalf. Polaris can supply a turnkey operation on or offshore for most projects local or international, in the open ocean or an inland duck pond.
Construction
Wharf, jetty and civil construction has been a mainstay of Polaris work capacity for many years, and although it has taken a backseat to tug and barge work in recent times, Polaris is well qualified and experienced to act on client's behalf in a consultancy role.
